Introduced by the Voice’s Nelson Abbey and speaking at the recent Students for Sensible Drug Policy event called ‘No Justice, No Peace: Drugs, Race and Growing Up’.

Viv Ahmun has worked on a range of topics, of which drugs is just one.   He mentors children around the country and sits on boards including the London Probation Board.  He is Managing Director of In-volve and Coreplan which is a leadership consultancy which develops and nurtures partnerships specialising in the social care and criminal justice sector.  This is a talk he gave recently on the part the drug laws play in social injustice.

Here, he discusses why drug and gang culture is the only career path on offer for many young black people in Britain – and how government policies mean that is likely to get worse.
